Going Green

Howdy Y'all,

I want to make it perfectly clear that i'm not irish, at least not that I know of. Going green is the latest craze for the typical Seattleite. Naturally when there there is a new bandwagon to jump on the folks from the greater Seattle area jumped on with both feet firmly planted. Take the Mariners for example. They have one good year like 5 yrs ago and all of the sudden the stadium is packed. Heres a thought, the Mariners suck so get over it. Same thing for the Seahawks, bandwagon and all. So now going green is the chic thing to be doing that is if your not bicycling naked or participating in the gay pride parade, either of them or walking for one of the hundred or so cancer foundations. Briefly, the gay pride parade is now split into 2 parades due to the manly catfights and female slapfests while trying to decide where to have the damn thing. One fag wanted it in "their" neighborhood while another wanted to make sure we all knew who was a flamer and hold it smack dab in the middle of Seattle. So now we get twice the rainbow. So anyways going green seems easy for many as there are already an abundance of tree huggers here. Now the irony in that is the organization ELF standing for the Earth Libertion Front. They (in their infinate wisdom) like to go burn down mansions under construction, the heavy equipment associated with construction and other such things of that nature. Naturally they are in protest of the massive amount of trees being cut down to make the mansion and the effects of strip mining where the minerals and such come from which inevitably become heavy machinery. Now what I find funny is the ELF burns this stuff down thinking the construction will stop when in actuality more trees get cut to make the same mansion the second time around and mining still continues in order to keep up with growing demands for more heavy equipment. So in a nutshell I jumped on the bandwagon this time and I changed all my lightbulbs to the compact flourecent bulbs. This way I get all the light I need while using much less energy. And guess what, I didn't piss anyone off, my story did not make the evening news and more importantly nobody cares what I did enough to make a stink about it!
